Tell me more!
Located on the east coast of Australia is the popular coastal resort of Gold Coast, it's less than 60 miles south of Brisbane if you fancied a day trip to the capital? It is the second most populous city in the state with an urban conurbation nearing the same size of that of Greater Brisbane with over 3 million inhabitants. It started its existence back in 1823 when explorer John Oxley set ashore on Mermaid Beach, its development remained slow until the late 1920's when the Surfers Paradise hotel was constructed and the tourists came a flocking! Tourism as a whole is expected to expand rapidly in the region especially with the 2018 Commonwealth Games being held here.

An enjoyable day out
When the sun gets unbearably hot and you fancy a cool off maybe you'd like to take a 45 minute air conditioned journey to the Tamborine Rainforest with its Skywalk Bridge high in the canopy, from here you can experience the true beauty of the lush green forest. Nearby are the Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves which need to be seen to be believed with two chambers full of stalactites and stalagmites and thousands of glistening glow worms.
