Everyone is thought of when it comes to use of the beach, there are child friendly areas, sports areas along with certain areas marked out for owners with their dogs. There are time restrictions for people on bicycles or roller skates so be sure to check the boards for the rules before entering the beach. For swimmers and surfers you will be safe in the knowledge that during the months from May to September there is a strong presence of lifeguards. There are 7 miles of sand that stretch the coast of Bournemouth where you can find various cafes, toilet blocks and showers. For your ultimate comfort in the sun you can rent out deckchairs and/or beach huts. Deckchair prices start at £1.50 and beach huts from £19 per day, prices do vary throughout the seasons.
Bournemouth Pier is a great place to take a stroll along. There are charges in place for entry onto the pier but once there you can access restaurants, cafes and lots of seafront amusements for the children and adults alike. The current prices are £0.60 for adults with one child free for every paying adult. Here you will also find The Pier Theatre which hosts a number of shows.
Another great attraction along the seafront is the Oceanarium, where you will find a number of marine creatures from around the world. The Oceanarium is open all year around from 10am and closes at 5pm, with last admissions at 4pm. Prices start from £8.45 for adults, £5.50 for children and under 3’s go free. Tickets can be ordered online in advance of your visit.
There are some fantastic walks where you can enjoy the wonderful views Bournemouth has to offer. If you are feeling a little more energetic and fancy touring Bournemouth and the surrounding areas on bike then there is the Front Bike Hire shop, this is open from February until October. If you are not quite up for the long walks or that bike ride, you can sit back and take in the views whilst on the land train which takes you from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier. Prices for adults are £2.00 whilst junior fares are £1.30, however family tickets are available to purchase which offer reduced rates.
There is plenty of parking in and around Bournemouth, costs do vary but of course in the summer prices are higher and you can expect to pay prices of around £12 for the day.
