The instructors really know their stuff, they put you at ease and make it not feel like such a daunting task learning this great skill. Their style teaching is in chunks so TEACH-PRACTICE-TEACH-PRACTICE. It’s a fantastic way to learn and have fun. Surf steps also have projects set up to help children and teenagers with mental health problems, where they learn to surf. The courses are held over a number of weeks (currently six) and are run by professionals as well as volunteers. The Wave Project is an amazing success and a definite to try during the summer months. Whatever your choice Surf or SUP, you will find a warm welcome by the friendly staff who are more than happy to guide and help you.
After your lesson you can hire out the equipment to have a go on your own, or if you are just along for the day and have tried surfing before and don’t fancy a lesson then you can just use the hire facilities at Surf Steps. You can rent out wetsuits, surfboards, bodyboards, and paddleboards. If you fancy taking on this exhilarating challenge then give them a call on 0800 043 7873 or drop them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org you won’t be disappointed.
